Day #5451 – (Sun., Dec. 8, 2024) – Christmas Concert

I’m not sure what the deal is with our chickens, but they are crapping in their nesting area… They never did this during the summer! We installed a timer on the heater so it will come on when the temperature goes down below a certain level.

This afternoon the whole family went to see the “Strathcona Symphony Orchestra” and their Christmas concert. Katie was not feeling well but went anyway, and Bobby was bored. They wouldn’t let us take photos or videos of the concert, but here are the kids (see photo to the right).

Melon Wensley, the little redhead who attended orchestra camp with the kids during the summer, did some tap dancing during the Sandpaper Ballet.

Here’s all that they covered:

  • The Magic Flute Overture, K. 620
  • Amadeus
  • Polonaise Op. 40, No. 1
  • James Bond Medley
  • Harry Potter Symphonic Suite
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • *** Intermission ***
  • Ode to Joy
  • Downton Abbey – The Suite
  • Bugler’s Holiday
  • Sandpaper Ballet
  • The Nutcracker (Three Dances)The Nutcracker (Three Dances)
    • March
    • Toy Flutes
    • Russian Dance
  • Carol of the Bells
  • Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer
  • Christmas Sing-a-long

On the way home we stopped off at McDonalds and wouldn’t you know it, they screwed up our order again. Instead of two cheeseburgers for each of the kids they gave them a cheeseburger with two patties. Ray Kroc is rolling over in his grave…

Katie is still not feeling well so my wife took her to Urgent Care this evening. They got to see the Italian doctor and got a prescription for oral antibiotics and a nasal spray, and went to Shopper’s Drug Mart to fulfill.

This evening we ordered a pool table and a ping pong table as well for the garage.
