Day #5468 – (Wed., Dec. 25, 2024) – Christmas Day!
The kids were up early today so we opened the presents at 8:30 am (see photo to the right). Bobby’s main gift was a VR Headset so that he can play “Gorilla Tag” with Ethan. Katie got a set of headphones that fit over the ear, along with the treadmill that was given to her earlier. Katie made a cute little “Rooster Drawing” for me, and a card for her mother.
We were thinking of having Chinese food for lunch, but nothing was open as of noon. There was the “Golden Carriage” Chinese restaurant in Courtenay, but when we couldn’t get them on the phone I drove out to see but alas it was closed. In the end we placed an order at “Wenjie” Chinese restaurant near the airport and picked it up after 4 pm! They didn’t have Singapore noodles, but we did pick up sweet and sour chicken!
Bobby had a headache this afternoon, probably from the VR Headset. He had his Chinese food while soaking in the tub.
Katie threw up this evening. Probably from the combination of blueberries and churned butter. She thought that the butter might be a substitute for whipped cream, but it had probably gone bad.
I went to Tim Hortons this evening as it was one of the few places that was open on Christmas. I sat in the nearby Subway parking lot, watching some videos, with the lights on, and the battery went dead. I couldn’t start the car and couldn’t even get into the car! My wife came in the van to pick me up. I found out that the key FOB does have a little key inside, so we will try to boost it tomorrow!
