Day #5476 – (Thu., Jan. 2, 2025) – McDonald’s Coupons!
Katie broke her bracket so she had to go see the orthodontist this morning. After that, a dentist appointment. Fun, fun, fun…
We’re planning on going bowling as a family tomorrow. The earliest time I could get was 1 pm. She asked me if I wanted regular or “Cosmic” bowling. I guess “Cosmic” has flashing lights and stuff, so I opted for regular.
Katie and I went out for a drive this evening, effectively Daddy/Daughter Chat Day #24. She initially didn’t want to go for a drive, but we started watching a YouTube video on how McDonalds didn’t make it in Iceland, and that got her craving going. I had a black coffee, and she had two cheeseburgers, and a fries…all courtesy of coupons! We had a great chat about stress and school and lack of friends. I think the talk was helpful. She said that she was going to start not being as hard on herself tomorrow.
Bobby had a great time in the tub this evening so the rest of us: my wife, Katie, and I, played pool. I found a tack that seems to be holding the plastic piece of the corner pocket in place, so that problem is solved now… I’m planning on getting a couple of cabinet jacks to hoist up the middle of the table to keep it level.
As we were coming home we saw Bobby playing with his VR headset in his bedroom window (see photo to the left). We thought how funny it looked, and how if enough of these people are playing on them it will look like a group of zombies wandering around…
Katie doesn’t want a birthday party this year. She does want an ice cream cake and I think we should be able to pick one up at Thrifty Foods. We bought her an acoustic classical guitar with case and capo as a present. I’m setting it up so that she will be able to play as soon as she gets it on her birthday, Saturday, January 4th!
