Day #5478 – (Sat., Jan. 4, 2025) – Happy 15th Katie!
Today is Katie’s 15th Birthday! We finally got a chance to cut the DQ cake I bought yesterday and indulge (see photo to the left).
In terms of birthday presents we bought Katie a classical guitar for her upcoming guitar class at Vanier. It came with a “case”, but a soft case (if you can call it that)… We’re going to get her a better case, but I’m wondering if a hard shell case might be too heavy and awkward for her to lug around at school, so there are better softshell cases available. I’m going to let her use the hard shell case I already own to see if she likes it.
Oh, and we also bought Katie a book she wanted, “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.
This afternoon we played a bit of pool and watched some YouTube on the projector in the garage. For starters we watched a documentary that Katie recommended about the “Mandela Effect”, and also some videos about pool sharks Efren Reyes and “The Black Widow”.
This evening Katie and I went for a long drive. She wanted to go to McDonalds for a “2 Cheeseburger EVM” for her birthday meal… She wanted to keep driving so we ended up spending close to 4 hours in the car!
Later this evening I ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon. For starters, two jacks to level the side pockets on the pool table. I also picked up four new pool cues, a bridge, and some more chalk.
