Bobby is home sick today, but Katie went to school. My wife took Bobby to the doctor this afternoon and they prescribed an inhaler so that he could breathe better. I picked it up at Courtenay Pharmacy this evening, along with a prescription for my wife.
I picked up Katie after school today and when my wife called to tell me about the prescription the car phone answered it. I find this very distracting, especially when I’m driving, so I spent some time this afternoon figuring out how to shut it off. It took some time to find the right YouTube video on the subject, and in the end, it wasn’t perfect, but I finally figured out how to delete my number. Hopefully I won’t have any more problems with it moving forward. My oh my, aren’t we connected to enough devices these days…

The photo to the left shows the books that Katie is currently reading. She also has a copy of Robert T. Kiyosaki’s book “Rich Dad Poor Dad”
Katie is doing much better today! When I came back with the prescriptions she launched into all the things she did today to try and make more friends and be happier. As she was sick on Friday she tried to have a makeup date with Shanti and the other two girls from her French class. Possibly this Friday. She reconnected with Sophie, the Chinese girl down the road, and they are thinking of going skiing together. She is even planning on connecting with the Scottish girls down the road. All this, and she played her viola without hassle tonight as well! Oh, and the photo to the left shows the books she is reading…
I think this optimistic change of heart from Katie could be because of a new approach I’m taking in talking to her during our drives together. I try to not give advice, and tell her that she’s smart and I have faith in her that she will figure things out. This seems to give her more confidence in moving forward and looking at the “Glass Half Full”.
