Katie went to school today but Bobby is home sick. His class is going to see the symphony at the Sid Williams Theater on Monday, so hopefully he will be well enough to attend.

Katie went to Ardene’s in the Driftwood Mall after school today with Shanti & Elizabeth. Her friend Camila couldn’t go because she has Pilates Class. They will be taking the bus from Vanier, but didn’t have any “Toonies” for the bus, so my wife packed some in a little purse (see photo to the left) and I drove over to Vanier with them…one for her and one for Shanti. Katie also dumped her heavy knapsack off in the car so she wouldn’t have to carry it around.
Katie picked up the hoodie that she was looking for and it was on sale!
When they were ready to leave I picked Katie and Shanti up in the Walmart parking lot. Elizabeth’s dad met her there to take her home as they live in Cumberland. On the way home we had an interesting conversation with Shanti. I told Shanti:
- About the “BecomingFhilipino” YouTube channel and how the guy was from Comox and brought his fiance (now married) home last Christmas to see it.
- We got into a discussion about how Coke is served in glass bottles in the Philippines and how it was originally made not as a drink, but as an elixir for aches & pains. Having “cocaine” in the original formula was the reason it worked so good.
- I told Katie that when she goes to McDonalds she can have her Coke “without ice”, just ask. In this way you not only get more Coke, it won’t have ice to dilute it when it starts to melt.
- We passed by “Mary Brown’s Chicken”, which just opened. I told them how popular it was in Truro when I was in College, and that they would probably have to wait a few months for the traffic to die down. It was packed as we drove by.
