Day #5525 – (Thu., Feb. 20, 2025) – McDavid Goal!

I ordered a set of metal guitar strings for Katie’s guitar. She says that the nylon strings that originally came with the guitar have lost their original feel. These “D’Addario EJ16 Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings”, which are considered the best, will arrive on Monday.

At 5 pm PST tonight I watched the 4 Nations Face-Off championship game between Canada and the United States at TD Garden in Boston. This game determined the winner of the tournament, showcasing top talent from both teams. This game was very competitive, given the tariff talk, and the USA’s 3-1 victory over Canada in the round-robin stage. Connor McDavid had the winning goal (see photo to the left)!

I’m still coughing up a storm, and this is making me very weak, but I had the last pill of my ZPac today. I’m hopeful that I’m on the mend…

Katie wanted to go for a drive this evening so I mustered up the energy to take her out. We went to McDonald’s so she could get a “2 Cheeseburger EVM”, making this Daddy/Daughter Chat Day #26. We ended up at the house with the trailer on 14th street, the first house that we were looking at during our first trip to Courtenay!

Katie is very excited about doubling up on some of the grade 10 & 11 classes next year so that she can move to Vancouver (or Victoria) quicker than scheduled. She’s also talking about perhaps going to McGill University. I told her that she would love Montreal, and especially the food scene! It would certainly help her to speak French, but they do get a lot of snow!

Bobby has been spending quite a bit of time as of late with Dominik & Connor, the neighbor kids, which is great. The more play with neighbor kids hopefully translates into less screen time…
