Day #5583 – (Sat., Apr. 19, 2025) – Rhubarb Tasting!

My wife did some gardening work outside this morning. We certainly do have a pretty property. I love the fact that I don’t seem to be allergic to anything. For some reason Maple was digging holes and rolling in them.

My wife found some rhubarb and gave it to the kids and I. I liked it! The kids did not! My wife also made a rhubarb drink that she said they used to give her for school lunch instead of soft drinks.

I played Scrabble with the kids this afternoon. We actually started to play the game “Clue”, but it appears the various pieces, like a candlestick, where not in the box, so we abandoned that idea and moved on to Scrabble (see photo to the right). In regards to Scrabble, Katie was distracted by her “Hunger Games” video that was “blowing up” with views, and Bobby was eager to go play video games, so we cut the name short.

I showed Bobby the magic trick that came across my YouTube feed the other day. In this magic trick you pretend to read a person’s mind, and here are the steps:

  • You ask the person to think of their favorite animal.
  • You pretend that you know what it is, but write down a direction (i.e.: up, down, left, right).
  • You fold the paper and give it to the person and ask them what animal they were thinking of.
  • You ask the person what their favorite color is.
  • You pretend that you know what it is, but you write down their favorite animal.
  • You fold the paper and give it to the person and ask them what color they were thinking of.
  • You ask the person to think of a direction, whether up or down or left or right.
  • You pretend that you know what it is, but you write down their color.
  • You fold the paper and give it to the person and ask them to give all three pieces of paper back to you.
  • You can then give them their corresponding piece of paper when you go through the three things that they were thinking of.
  • Since the direction you wrote down on the first piece of paper can be turned to face in any direction, you have this question answered correctly as well.

This evening Katie and my wife were hiding Easter eggs around the property. I heard them rummaging around and hide some in the Barn!
