I stopped off at Trader Joe’s this evening to get some goat’s milk for Katie. I got three quarts as it lasts a while and both Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods were out of it last time.
When I got home my wife and Katie met me in the driveway. My wife said that Katie really wants to walk today…they were to the mailbox and back a number of times. My wife had to help her of course, but she wanted to walk nonetheless. This was yet a foreshadow of what was to come…
The foam puzzle that we got Katie at a recent consignment sale is having a rather negative side-effect. She is learning how to take this toy apart, and this new knowledge is being carried over to our playmats. She will grab one of the ends and pull it off (see photo to the left). We have to keep an eye on her before it is totally taken apart.
This evening I was playing in the playyard with Katie when she started to cry…she wanted out. I opened the gate and she started to walk from a standing position. She navigated all the way to her shopping cart on the other side of the living room. Lucky us…both my wife and got to see her walking. Exactly 14 months…this was the day Katie really walked. We were fortunate enough to get some video to mark the occasion.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
