Day #436 (Tue., Mar. 15, 2011) – Katie’s New Library
Katie is getting really good at walking these days…she is just wobbling a bit. It’s 6:15pm and she just walked by me and turned a bit to navigate towards the kitchen. Once she gets really stable watch out…it will be tough to keep up with her.
There is a series of shelves in the space between the kitchen and the dining room. We used to use this area to store out printer and office supplies…but no longer. Our roaming little chipmunk loves to get into all the pens and markers and cables and paper, so we had to move them. This area now houses her books (see photo to the right). She can go up and grab one when she wants. She is gradually expanding her realm. Pretty soon my wife and I will be sharing 1″ square in the corner of the house…unless Katie wants it of course…
We got a toy saxophone for Katie in the mail today. I was thinking that I could learn the melody for “In The Mood” and play it for Katie…that might help her to understand that the people she sees in the Lawrence Welk band on television are playing instruments…and she can too…
