Day #437 (Wed., Mar. 16, 2011) – Katie’s Toy Saxophone

I stopped off at Trader Joe’s on the way home from work. We need goat’s milk and I pick up 3 quarts each time I go these days. You can never tell if they are going to have it or not, and it keeps.

2011-03-16 - Toy SaxophoneI think that we wouldn’t be going through so much goat’s milk if Katie wouldn’t throw her sippy cup around when she is done taking a sip here and there. It leaks a bit and there are these little spots of goat’s milk here and there on the playmats.

Let’s talk a bit about the toy saxophone that Katie got yesterday (see photo to the left). The sound is “okay”, but it is not as professional sounding as one would like. One of the keys sticks but we’re hoping that it will gradually loosen itself as the instrument is played. It only cost about $17 from Amazon and it is one of those toys that could help get more involved with music. We will probably have to get her a more expensive and nicer instrument if she really shows some dedication to it. For now, it’s a neat little toy.

We now have two secret weapons for when Katie gets fussy. (1) The old standby Lawrence Welk, and (2) “Master of the House” from Les Miserables. Last year at this time we had to take her out for long drives in the evening because nothing else would seem to calm her down. Those days seem long gone now…

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
