Day #490 (Sun., May 8, 2011) – Katie’s Second Mother’s Day
I got up early this morning and went to WholeFoods and Trader Joe’s before my wife and daughter got up (I also put a Mother’s Day Card on my wife’s computer this morning before she got up).
On the way home from the grocery store I stopped off at Lowe’s to get some potting soil for my wife (and ended up getting her a hanging planter for Mother’s Day as well). I also got her a herb garden (with rosemary, thyme and oregano) from Trader Joe’s.
Katie found a little flower that fell off the hanging plant I got for my wife and she carried it around the house for most of the morning.
This afternoon Katie and I made a Mother’s Day Card (see photo to the left) for my wife. I wrote the wording “Happy Mother’s Day…Love Katie”, and Katie put her “stamp” on it via a marker and crayon. I asked her to take it to mommy, but she wanted to mark it up some more. In fact, it was hard to get her to take it to mommy…she kept wanting to mark it up.
This evening Katie had her bath and she learned to pull the string from the turtle so that it’s wheels would move. First time she did that.
