Day #525 (Sun., June 12, 2011) – Dixie Belle

4:20am – Katie is up and “patching” up a storm. She has not been sleeping through the night recently. Guess she is still teething.

I slept in this morning. Katie managed to open the bedroom door and brought her coloring book in and plopped it on the bed. Such was my awakening at 10:30am.

We went to the Mexican Restaurant for lunch today. We gave Katie a few chips…she liked them. No sauce, it was too hot.

When we got home my wife gave Katie some berries with yogurt on the side. She loves to dunk her berries in them and eat them. This is one way to get her to eat her yogurt…she doesn’t like to be fed it anymore.

This afternoon we all decided to put some water in the swimming pool on the deck and take a dip. My wife got a nice big pail from the basement to fill it up with. We usually put about 5 pails of water. Enough to splash around in but not enough that we would feel “wasteful” by pouring it out after a dip. We prefer to pour the water out instead of having to worry about Katie getting into it when we are not looking.

This evening we went to Dixie Belle in Apex for a meal. Katie loves this place. There was a wooden pig at the entrance (see photo to the left) that was holding the menu…Katie loved it. She was running around “like a fearless little chipmunk collecting complements” as my wife would say. She even crawled up on a chair with one girl…the girl was wondering “what in the world is happening here”.

When we got out of the restaurant it started to rain, so no park for Katie today. I thought she would start to cry when we got home (because she didn’t get the chance to run around as she likes), but she did not.
