Day #528 (Wed., June 15, 2011) – Half A Waffle
Katie managed to take 1/2 of a waffle off of my wife’s breakfast plate and ate it. She obviously liked it…if she doesn’t like her egg she will play with it and leave it in various formations on her tray.
My wife heard back from a potential babysitter today. She is coming tomorrow evening to meet with us. She worked as a teacher at preschools and has early childhood #1 & #2 credentials. If all works out she will start on Friday and will be here next week after our current babysitter leaves us. One good thing is that she will be able to work on Fridays, so that will free up our time even more.

I took Katie to the Dragon Park again this evening. My wife stayed home to work. Katie seems fearless when it comes to activities so you have to watch her every second. She is so much bigger and faster than other 17 month old children you have to always be on your toes. She was drawn to another boy’s pail and shovel so I guess we will have to start taking them with us from now on.
There are a series of concrete “baracade” balls placed at strategic places around the park. Katie will run up to them, give them a hug and say “ball”. She tries to lift them, but that doesn’t last long.
I took Katie to the young children’s area of the park and she had two choices where she could go. She could go to play with two little girls who were playing house, or to two boys who were playing with toy guns and “rough housing” near the slide. Guess which one she picked? You’re right…she went to the boys. Where does she get this love of adventure and action?
Game #7 of the NHL Playoffs – Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks. Katie was not into it too much so we had to change the channel to the waltz in Vienna. Once she is in the nursery counting sheep daddy will switch it back… (I did…Boston won the cup tonight).
