Day #530 (Fri., June 17, 2011) – Katie & The Firefly
Katie slept til 8am this morning so we have had two good nights in a row where we haven’t had to get up and take care of her. Let’s hope that this trend continues…
I was sitting in the LazyBoy this morning and said “Katie, go get a toy out of your playyard and bring it to daddy and we will play”. I was curious if she would bring me anything, and what it would be if she did. She went and got a plush doggie and brought it to me. She hugged it and fell on it…our little chipmunk is tired…time for bed.
Katie is starting to bring pails of water from the green turtle sandbox/pool into the house. We will have to keep an eye on her. She is leaving this pool of evidence behind her…
This evening we went to Moe’s for dinner, then to a park on Seabrook Avenue. This time we took Katie’s sand toys. She played with them a bit, but she was more interested in walking (or running…see photo to the left) the nearby “greenway” this evening. She did wander off towards the basketball court and my wife had to go get her and bring her back.
Katie is starting to add a syllable to her definition of “cookie”. She used to say “cook” and now she says “cook-a”. She should be saying “cook-ee”, but she is close…just needs to change that last syllable to the next vowel.
When I brought Katie home this evening she saw a firefly as we walked towards the front door. She got to see it buzz about and its little glow light turn on and off. She was fascinated with it.
Katie managed to climb up on top of the coffee table this evening. There will be no stopping her now. She had this look of delight on her…she sure loves to do daring things.
