Day #534 (Tue., June 21, 2011) – Model Railroad On Display
I made a ground turkey cheeseburger for Katie today for a change. Basically ground turkey fried with some cheese on the outside. She really liked it.
Remember a while back my wife and I visited a model railroad setup at a local shopping mall? Well we finally got the chance to take Katie there. My wife did some shopping in the local stores while I tended to Katie. I had to get a nearby chair for her to get up on, but she enjoyed pushing the various buttons and having the trains move around the track at her command (see photo to the left).
Katie enjoyed running around the mall and getting up on the benches (her new found skill). She liked seeing the various sunglasses in the display cases. The only thing I really had to be careful of was the trophy out front of one of the shops. Katie liked to grab a hold of it and I was scared she would tip it over.
We then decided to go to Old Navy to see if they have any more shoes in Katie’s size. Katie enjoyed patting the plastic dog mannequin near the entrance. When the Old Navy Store in Cary didn’t have any shoes in her size we decided to drive out to Apex. The Old Navy Store in Apex had shoes at 1/2 price ($4.99 each), so we got two pairs (one size 7 and one size 8). It was hard to get Katie out of the store…she wanted to play with one of the balls that she found.
As we were driving home Katie was playing in the back seat with her pail and bucket. Quite the racket as she smashed them together, but she sure was enjoying herself.
Katie had two #2’s this evening. This is why she was so fussy.
