Day #536 (Thu., June 23, 2011) – Twirling Katie
My wife took Katie for a walk down the road today. As they went up a hill Katie held my wife’s hand and they walked together. She didn’t run off or try to get away…she just walked up the hill with her.
We went to Moe’s this evening and Katie cried when we took her out of the car. She wanted to bring her pail and shovel into the restaurant. We had to distract her with some flowers…
This evening we were going to take Katie to the kiddie area in Bond Park but ended up taking her down to Bond Lake instead. She really enjoyed seeing the ducks, and of course, playing with her bucket and shovel in the sand (see photo to the right). She is definitely getting better with her aim…she manages to get some of the sand into the bucket now.
This evening Katie just took the snail pull toy and pulled it down the hall and back. She used to get a great kick out of me pulling it up and down the hallway, and now she is doing it herself.
Katie was watching the Vienna Concert this evening and started to hold her hand up in the air and twirl around. She saw the guys holding the girls hands on video and twirling them around and thought she would try it out as well.
9:45pm – Katie has just cleared all the stuff off of the coffee table. This is a sign that she plans to get up on top of it. Like a bird preparing the dance floor… When she tried to get up on top of the television stand my wife said “no” and she stopped. She did the same thing when my wife said “no” as she was heading to the lake…she stopped and turned around. So, she does listen to what we say after all (when she wants to that is)…
