Day #540 (Mon., June 27, 2011) – Our Sick Little Chipmunk

My wife and I are so tired. Katie has been up and down all night. Her temperature is hovering around 99-101. We are continuing to give her plenty of fluids and monitoring her. She was up again at, oh 5am…I don’t remember I’m so exhausted…and she seemed a lot better, so hopefully she had made the turn for the better.

Our new babysitter, Cathy, came to work at 1pm. She will be working 1-5pm Monday – Friday. I think she will work out great.

2011-06-27-Park Down The RoadI drove to Trader Joe’s this afternoon to get some goat’s milk for Katie. Picked up some milk for us and some berries as well.

This evening we went to Moe’s and my wife and I shared a Joey Burrito. Katie ate off our plate. We went to a playground at a nearby apartment complex (see photo to the left) so Katie could play. It didn’t have a lot of the amusements of the larger parks, but it did have dirt…and give Katie a pail and shovel and she had a wonderful time.

When Katie was tired of scooping and organizing and gathering we drove to Bond Park. We played in the large field with a ball, but Katie was a bit fussy so we drove home after a bit.

Katie loves to watch Oswald in our bedroom. She will bring “whatever” with her and snuggle her little backside into daddy’s lap so he can read her a book or play with a ball or “whatever”. It appears that she is becoming more and more affectionate as she gets older. She likes to be close and stroked but not confined. It is when you try to hug and kiss her that she will “squeal” and try to run away.

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
