Day #546 (Sun., July 3, 2011) – Observation Park

This evening we went to Moe’s for dinner (we both had the quesadilla), then to the Observation Park near the airport so that Katie could have a run.

Observation Park (see photo to the left) is basically an area where you can see the planes take off and land, and there is a kiddie park nearby. The kiddie park is rather basic, but there was a sandbox so Katie enjoyed scooping up the sand and putting it “wherever”. One neat feature of the Observation Park is the kiddie landing strip. They have a couple of strips of pavement with the markings of airplane landing strips. Kids love running up and down it with their arms outstretched pretending that they are airplanes.

Katie did enjoy Observation Park and getting out for a run, but she is a bit too young to truly understand all about airplanes and such. We will probably take her back here when she gets older, but for now there are many more parks (i.e.: Dragon Park) that have activities that are much more enjoyable for her.
