Little Katie has been having some very fussy evenings as of late. She has been generally eating every two hours, and my wife and I are trying to adjust our schedules to accommodate this.
My wife was reading as to possible reasons why. She read that about 6 weeks they start to enter a growth spurt. This usually lasts 2-3 days, but can last as long as 7 days (the sooner the better). Once this period ends she will supposedly sleep longer for a while…and we will try to catch up on our sleep then.
Little Katie seems to like the smiley flower rattle (shown in the picture to the left). Perhaps it is the “rattling” sound, but I think it’s more the dynamic colors. If you move the rattle from left to right she will follow it with her eyes.
8:00pm and little Katie is up. She was a bit fussy at first, but perhaps that is because she missed the opening of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. She seems to calm down once I told her that I recorded the start of the Olympics (and she started eating).
Little Katie’s neck muscles are getting stronger and stronger. If you put her on your belly “face down” she can raise up her head to see what is going on in the world around her.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
————————————
1) Little Katie’s neck muscles are getting stronger.
2) Little Katie loves the Olympics (and nursing)…
