Day #615 (Sat., Sept 10, 2011) – Bye Bye Grandma

2011-09-10 - Watching Airplanes

My mother-in-law flew back to Lithuania today. We all took her to the airport by 12:30pm for her flight. She will be going to Washington, D.C. then to Frankfurt, Germany, then to Lithuania. Her eyeglasses broke about 10 minutes before we left so that added some drama. I put some LocTite on them. That will do the trick.

Katie enjoyed seeing the planes as you can tell from the photo to the left.

While at the airport I decided to cash in the currency that I have had in a box for the last 15 years or so. Never found time to do it til now. They couldn’t cash some of the bills as they were out of date? (not sure what that means…). Anyway the total of what they could change came to $592 and some change. I never realized that I had that amount lying around. This will go onto our mortgage.

This evening I took Katie to the playground that I saw in Preston. It is not that large, but it does have some baby swings for Katie and other amusements. She loved her time in the swing (naturally). There was a lady there who just got back from China with her husband and two children. She was telling me about the Mandarin Daycare that is near the new Target (corner Hwy #54 & Cary Parkway).

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
