Day #654 (Wed., Oct 19, 2011) – Slinky Commercial
Katie was up from about 3:30am to 5:30am this morning. I’m always trying to find things to do that will keep her amused til she gets tired, so I took out the slinky that we played with last night. I found on YouTube the old 1960’s commercial that advertised this product and played it on the television. It has a catchy little jingle and Katie really enjoyed it.
I made a “slide” out of the old cardboard box that our trampoline came in (see photo to the left) and was able to get the slinky to “walk” down it. Katie was fascinated with it.
Katie and I were watching a bit of a cooking show and they happened to mention pizza. Well Katie started saying “pizza” “pizza” so I decided I would make her one. I use high fiber tortillas so that it will be better for her. She loved it. In fact we all had pizza this evening.
Once we put Katie to bed this evening I started to watch a television show and started to talk. Once Katie hears my voice she is wide awake again…scared she is going to miss out on some fun. So, we had to bring her to the living room and play with her a bit more. From now on once she goes to bed I’m going to the bedroom so she can’t hear the television or me. Once she falls asleep everything is fine.
