We went to the Bosphorus Restaurant this evening to celebrate both my wife’s graduating with her PhD and my new job. Before the restaurant we stopped into a local Thrift Store and my wife picked up a $0.50 wooden train puzzle (see photo to the right) for Katie. The idea was that this would keep her occupied and entertained at the restaurant…that was not to be.
Katie was already acting up so I was having second thoughts about going to the restaurant but proceeded. she started off fine by “patching” on the white paper tablecloth and playing with the wooden puzzle. She enjoyed the pita bread and dips but when the novelty of the place wore off she got harder and harder to manage. In the end I “wolfed” down my food and took her to the car so that she could watch Mary Poppins on DVD while my wife paid the bill.
My wife needed to get a TuTu for Katie for her upcoming dancing classes so we stopped by Target in Morrisville. I was going to get a SmartPhone but decided to think about it some more. Katie wanted to get out of the shopping cart and run around the store but I remembered last time…it’s safer to keep her “caged” in the shopping cart rather than have her run around the store and take various items off the shelves and put them on the floor.
This evening I wrapped up a present for Katie. I’m planning to pass it to Santa either tomorrow or Saturday evening and he will give it to Katie. Santa of course asks us for our advice on what to get Katie as we are her parents.
Katie’s vocabulary is exploding these days. This evening she brought a big basket of blocks to our bedroom and said “I play blocks”. I was tickling her and she said “Stop”.
