Day #849 (Tue., May 1, 2012) – Christina Returns
With Ramona on vacation we elicited the help of our previous babysitter Christina. She spent the whole day with Katie which was nice…my wife needed a break. My wife had already left for a work meeting when Katie got up in the morning. Katie was a bit surprised to see Christina, but happy nonetheless.
Christina took Katie to the park for a few hours (see photo to the left), then they read lots of stories and both seemed to enjoy that. After Katie napped in the afternoon my wife went to pick her up. She was hugging her sheep and said: “It’s a very happy sheep”.
Katie is still asking for her “Special Present” when I come home from work but she is gradually getting used to the idea that I won’t always have one. We thought of getting out one of the toys she hasn’t seen in a while and call that a “Special Present”, but that seems to defeat the purpose of her coming to the realization that there will not be one every evening when daddy comes home.
