We are starting to plan for Katie’s 3rd birthday party. The theme will be “Jungle Animals” and my wife sent out invitations to her classmates today. We decided that we would stop off at the Dollar Store and Michaels and see what we could stock up on.
We told that Katie she could have one gift, and she did get one gift (although my wife provided a more liberal interpretation to be “one at each store”). Katie got a snow globe at the Dollar Store. When she found the toy section she ran from display to display putting whatever she liked into our shopping cart (but we put them back when she was not looking).
At Michael’s Art Supply Store Katie fell in love with yet another package of animals. You can see the picture of the toy parrot in the photo to the right. Extremely well detailed…and about $7.99 for a whole tube of them.
Just before Katie got up from her nap I drove down to Trader Joe’s to get supplies. It has been a long while since we were there and were out of almost everything. Sometimes shopping goes much quicker and smoother when Katie is not around.
This evening I drove to Home Depot to get a doorknob for the hallway. I tried to fix the old sticky one but this new one only cost $10 and it will provide a lifetime of service. Katie helped me by handing me the screws…kind of. She got a big hug from daddy when we were done and took delight in the job.
Katie was in a dancing mood tonight. Munching on Moe’s corn chips and spinning about we watched various episodes of Lawrence Welk. She sure does feel the music.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Katie sure loves those Moe’s Corn Chips. I offered her a yogurt cookie but she preferred the chips.
