Day #1110 (Thu., Jan. 17, 2013) – Let It Snow!

It’s been cold and rainy all day today…we are expecting to get snow tonight.

I had a hard time eating dinner this evening…Katie wanted to play. We ended up in the master bedroom watching YouTube videos of sheep herding and dog sled races. When my wife showed up Katie promptly told her that she was not allowed and closed the door on her. My wife said that she is becoming very protective of me…imagine what she will be like when she is a teenager?

The fascination with water continues. Katie fills up the water in the bathroom sink and then takes plastic toy after plastic toy to “give them a bath”. At first she got both my wife and I to go see her “masterpiece” but soon she pushed my wife out and told me that I could not leave. I told her that I had to go “pee pee”…she seems to let me go when I bring up that reason. I guess she knows what it’s like when you “need to go”.

Later this evening Katie decided that she wanted to make a beach in our 2nd bedroom. She sprawled a green blanket out on the floor…this was the water. She then sprinkled sea shells around the floor to be the beach area. Such an imaginative child…

Around 8pm this evening my wife turned on the light to the patio and low and behold, we have snow. We promptly dressed up Katie in warm clothes and took her out on the patio to play (see photo to the left). Who knows how long it will last…you need to enjoy it while you can.

The first thing Katie said was that she wanted to make a snowman. I told her that there was not enough snow right now…but perhaps tomorrow. She did get down on the ground and make her first snow angel. Not sure where she learned this from…perhaps Caillou?
