My wife took Katie to school this morning. It has been a week since she has gone due to her bad cough. She put up a bit of a fuss in the morning but things turned out fine in the end.
The photo to the left shows a flower arrangement that Katie made.
This evening Katie wanted to go get some ice cream so we bundled her up and took her to YoPop. I happened to mention to my wife that the other frozen yogurt place (the once where Katie got the stuffed tiger) went out of business recently. Such is the case in the competitive field of frozen yogurt I guess… We thought Katie would have her usual strawberry but tonight she insisted on only chocolate. The taste buds of our little girl are changing.
After the frozen yogurt Katie insisted on going to the nearby hardware store and seeing the birds. As we were approaching the store Katie was outside yelling at us “It’s open, It’s open”. The last time we were here it was a Sunday evening and they were closed.
Next stop, Home Depot. Katie was fascinated with all the Halloween decorations. They don’t seem to have as wide a selection this year…perhaps they were not selling well last year and they don’t want to take up too much of the store with them this year? We then decided to take Katie to the Halloween Store that opened up recently near Trader Joe’s, but when that was closed we ended up at Lowe’s. They had a mechanical ghost/skeleton figure that would make haunting noises as you passed it. Katie was both fascinated and scared with this contraption.
When we got home Katie played with “Washing her animals”. She would dip one of the little toy animals in a bowl of water and then wash it with a towel. She said that they were dirty and needed a good cleaning.
