Day #1502 (Thu., Feb. 13, 2014) – Snowed In!
What started yesterday as rain has changed over to freezing rain so we are totally snowed & iced in today (see photo to the left). This is the case for most of the Triangle area. My office and my wife’s office and most offices it seems have closed down for the day in realization that this is an historic event. There is talk that things will not start to clear up til afternoon tomorrow.
Katie has been all over me today. I’m working from home but Katie is not making it easy. For some reason she keeps saying that she wants to be with me and when my wife comes near her she starts to scream. My wife told her that she was worried yesterday I might not make it home from the storm. Is this why she is so clingy to me today? Perhaps it has something to do with taking her suche away? Maybe it’s because she is getting over being sick? My wife’s boss later confirmed 100% that it was because she no longer has her suche.
This evening I was watching “Fruit Train” on YouTube with Katie (remember those videos?). Anyway, we got to exploring the various other types of trains and “Animal Train” came up. When the first train car appeared it was a picture of a cow. I said “It’s a chicken” (continuing the “chicken” game that is a running joke between Katie and I). Katie replied “No, it’s a cow…we’ll get to your chicken”. My wife and I laughed and laughed.
