The photo to the left shows Katie’s assortment of socks. They even have little hoops on the top so they are easier to put on.
My wife is still sick so I took Katie to school today. On the way there she mentioned how she hoped that Eleri was in school today. We got behind Eleri as she signed her name on the chalkboard at the door entrance and they didn’t acknowledge each other. Vanessa didn’t acknowledge me either.
As soon as Katie got into the classroom she put a “death grip” on my arm and would not let go. She dragged me into the classroom with her and when I put her down at a table with the other girls to comb doll hair she still would not let go. When I tried to leave she went with me and we ended up at the bookshelf.
About this time Teagan came into the room and said hi to Katie. Her mother, Raquel, said hi to me and we left together once the teacher came and pried Katie off my arm. Teagan’s mom told me that Katie came up to Teagan at school yesterday and said that she was her best friend. I guess that Teagan was so excited that she couldn’t wait to go back to school and see Katie.
This evening I sat down with Katie on the bed and told her how great she made Teagan feel. I said that Teagan would be a good girl to be friends with and that she should play with her a bit each day to solidify the relationship. Katie then got talking about sleep overs and started pretending that I was Teagan.
Let’s hope this relationship develops…
