There are still some drama in regards to putting the eye drops into Katie’s eyes but she is trying and you have to give her credit for that.
This evening Katie asked me if I had a present for her. I said no, but I would play with her. My wife said isn’t it better if daddy plays with you? Katie agreed.
We ended up playing with the battery-operated flying fairy that she got for her birthday til the batteries ran out. Isabelle got dressed up with a nose mitt (see photo to the right). We wrestled a bit and played with Legos. Soon we were talking about the Masked Magician videos we saw on YouTube a few days ago and we had the rest of the evening planned…we would have a magic show.
I would be “The Unmasked Masked Magician” and Katie would be my assistant. My wife would be the audience. I looked up a couple of magic tricks that we could perform together and here’s what I found:
- A regular banana that becomes slices when you open it up (i.e.: you puncture the skin with a small needle and slice it before you open it up).
- A paper that you pretend waves based on your hand instructions. You actually have a part of the paper folded down behind it to operate with your thumb.
I would go before the audience (my wife) and introduce myself and then introduce my lovely assistant who was dressed up in a pretty dress and high heels and would bring me the magic wand. Katie loved it!!!
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
