Day #2576 (Sun., Jan. 22, 2017) – The Movie “Sing”

Katie and I had Daddy/Daughter Day #53 today. Katie had asked about seeing the movie “Sing” for a while now and we had better see it before it leaves the theaters. We stopped off at SilverSpot first and got the tickets…this part of the mission was accomplished.

2017-01-22 - Happy Meal ToyThings at McDonald’s were not to be that smooth. A couple of days ago they were advertising “Sing” figures with Happy Meals, but today they had “lip gloss kits” (see photo to the left). Oh well, Katie said that she was happy to get her first lip gloss kit. I would have rather she gotten a “Sing” figurine.

When we arrived at the theatre I bought her a package of Twizzlers. The movie was very well done. There was a part in the movie in which the Gorilla said to his song the singer that he was proud of him. I leaned over to Katie and told her that this is how I felt about her. A little smile came to her face. I think I liked the male pig character the best. A bit of a combination of Liberace and Richard Simmons.

After the movie, we drove out to the Wal-Mart near the O2 Gym in Pittsbro to pick up the “thank-you notes” Katie is going to be sending out to those who gave her birthday presents. She really wanted a dog coloring book. It was a bit expensive so I gave her the option of having some of the Clearance Christmas Toys which were a much greater value (i.e.: Shopkins Sets for 70% off). She preferred the dog coloring book.

We stopped off at McDonald’s for our final stop today so that Katie could get a chocolate-dipped ice cream cone.

I told Katie that if she wanted this dog coloring book to be just for her to take it to her room before Bobby got a hold of it. It’s her Daddy/Daughter Day gift so it’s up to her if she wants to share it or not. She decided to take it to her room. The same will hold true for when we have Daddy/Son Days in a few years.
