My wife drove me out to UNC Hospital in Hillsborough as soon as she was done dropping Katie off at Glenwood. We got a handicapped parking spot just outside the main entrance. The staff at this hospital is no nice and relaxing. If you have to go “under the knife”, this is the place.
The surgery lasted a couple of hours and they actually found three hernias…not just one. It was very painful after the surgery and as soon as I got home I hobbled right to bed and fell on the bed face-first where I slept for a couple of hours.
When I woke up around 3pm my wife and Katie came to see me. Bobby was still having his nap. Katie was very eager to wait on me. She showed me the Chinese crown that she made at school today (along with her name written in Chinese on the back). You can see both in the photo to the left.
After taking another nap I debated whether I would see Bobby this evening. He often has a hard time leaving daddy and I certainly wouldn’t be able to get down on the floor and play with his Hot Wheels. We hang out on the bed playing with cars and trucks and watching television.
My wife was giving Bobby a bath this evening when he showed her a plastic whale and asked “What is this”? She replied “What is this”? He said “Yes”. My wife replied “A whale”.
