Day #2624 (Sat., Mar. 11, 2017) – Happy 2nd Birthday Bobby!

My wife, Katie and I were up early this morning getting ready for Bobby’s birthday party. The birthday boy slept in which made getting ready all that much easier.

Guenther was the first to arrive…without his parents. Steven showed up later on and asked if he could leave him with us. Genevieve and her other child came to the party but Steven stayed at home to clean up the house.

2017-03-11 - Spiderman CakeArnesa and family were the next to arrive. She brought the lovely “Spiderman cake” that she made (see photo to the right). “Spiderman” (Dzenen), hid in the car until the coast was clear of kids. When he arrived at the house we let Bobby open the door. He was so overwhelmed that he just turned around and walked away. At least he didn’t cry.

Rima and Scott came over and brought their children. The Nerdy Nummies Spiderman Pops were a hit. Even Bobby enjoyed munching on one.

We had a Spiderman pinata full of Spiderman toys and candies. There was so much “stuff” in fact, that the kids took their fill and there was still more of it on the floor.

We could not get the firestarter to work so fortunately I remembered we could use our gas stove to light a candle which in turn could light the candles on the birthday cake. I was just about to go out and get some matches at the service station.

This evening we went through all the various birthday gifts that Bobby received. Katie was the “Master of Ceremonies” if you can call it that, handing out the gift for him to open next. He liked them all but was particularly overwhelmed by the transport truck full of die-cast cars we bought him. He was also all over the Duplo Spiderman on a bike.
