This is Katie’s last week as a first grader. My how time flies. On the way to Glenwood this morning I told her that we are working on getting her play dates with good girls like Mattie and “the other” Sophie. I want her to create great girl friendships that will grow along with her over the years. Miss Laura’s daughter is in high school now and has as her best friend a girl that she met in grade one. I would like Katie to have the same.
They had a field day at Katie’s school today. I thought it would be cancelled due to rainy weather, but they went ahead with it anyway. Katie told me that one of her favorite activities was a game of tag with “flags”, in which the kids tried to catch you and rip the flag off you. I told her that there was a game called flag football that worked on the same principle.
Bobby got a pair of crocodile socks today and insisted on wearing them (see photo to the right). My wife tells me that he is becoming more and more particular about the clothes he wears. She tried to take his Spiderman shirt off and he cried with tears streaming down his face.
We are having a hard time keeping Bobby off the laptop. He will come over and stand on it. My phone fell on the floor the other day and before you know it Bobby jumped on it. Luckily it had a protective screen, which was cracked, but at least the phone was safe.
