The photo to the right shows the “Poop” keychain that Katie gave Bobby. He really likes to watch the Emoji movie in which this character is featured. He will say “Poop, yeech, that’s disgusting”.
I drove Katie to Glenwood this morning. Apparently, Helen will not be leaving for California til this afternoon. We could have taken her to school this morning but since we didn’t know this, we didn’t take her.
My wife and I met with Katie’s English teacher, Miss Stanford, this afternoon at 1 pm. Katie had a test where she was not able to write down specifics on a reading that she did on the Statue of Liberty. We told Miss Stanford that she has no problems reading or remembering facts at home, so perhaps the subject matter was the issue? We’re sure that if it was about animals she would be able to recall loads of facts. Teacher/student relationship issues are also a problem…but we don’t go there… Miss Stanford told us that she can be intense and Katie cried on the first day of school with her.
I’m still fighting off this cold/”whatever” bug and came home from work early and went right to bed. I woke up at 10:30 pm. My wife told me that the kids were running up and down the halls and making loud noises, but I didn’t hear any of it. Apparently Bobby dropped water on top of Katie’s keyboard as well. Lots of fun.
This evening, after I awoke from my long nap, I made another round of the soup/stew in the instant pot. The key ingredient is the box of creamy tomato soup from Trader Joe’s. Other than that it has hamburger and other meats, lots of veggies, and a bag of “riced” cauliflower and “riced” broccoli.
