Day #3416 (Tue., May 14, 2019) – Picking Up Mom
I took Bobby to the science museum in Durham to meet Arnesa, Ayra, and Claudia. They enjoyed playing with the parachute man (see photo to the right).
On the way home I realized that we needed to get the van to pick up Katie and Helen as the car does not have enough booster seats, so we switched cars and then went to pick up the girls at Glenwood. Bobby didn’t sleep in the van today.
Katie’s piano class was this evening. Bobby played “quietly” for the most part. I showed him the eraser that the teacher gave to Katie and he thought that I told him to give it to Katie, so he interrupted the class a bit.
We stopped off at a garage to get some bubble gum for the drive to the airport to pick up mom. We went inside and got to see her get off the plane. The kids ran up to give her a hug.
We all then went to Wendy’s for dinner. The kids prefer McDonald’s so they can get a Happy Meal, but Wendy’s had potatoes and chili, which is more substantial.
My wife brought another Southwest toy plane for Bobby and a “pencil gator” and purse for Katie. My wife got me some New Orleans coffee from Amazon before she left for the trip.
