Day #3613 (Wed., Nov. 27, 2019) – Car Meltdown

The photo to the right shows Maple enjoying the couch next to the Christmas tree. It’s a “Very Maple Christmas” as far as she is concerned…

Both Katie and Bobby are off school for the Thanksgiving break today. My wife bundled them up early and took them to Trader Joe’s to pick up the rest of the supplies that we are going to need for the rest of the Thanksgiving meal tomorrow. Arnesa and her family will be joining us.

Just before noon, I drove out to Harris Teeter (or planned to) to get some jellied cranberry sauce that Katie wanted. She got a taste for it when they offered it at a school lunch this week.

Well, my car started to steam, so I had to call AAA to take it to Lloyd’s tire. It looked like it might be a fried engine, but he called me back later in the afternoon to tell me that the radiator leaked and it might be a $750 repair as opposed to a $5000 engine job. Still a gamble, but I told him to go ahead with it.

Later today I took the van to Harris Teeter to get the rest of the Thanksgiving Day supplies. They had a cherry pie for 1/2 off so I got one of those. I also got a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and the kids were all over those.
