Bobby didn’t want to go to school this morning. When I dropped him off he gave me a big hug and said that he didn’t feel well. Thinking he was sick, I dropped the snacks off for the frogs as it was our turn, and headed home. On the way home Bobby said that he wanted to go to Walmart. I told him that he couldn’t go to Walmart as he was sick.
When I got home I texted my wife that he was home and she told me that he told her last night that he just wanted to stay home from school and play Legos and watch television. As such, once his temperature proved he was fine, I packed him up and off to school he went. He didn’t put up a fuss this time, but did mention that he wanted to go to the Dollar Store and have a Daddy/Son Day after school.
So, Bobby and I had Daddy/Son Day #21 after school today. I took him to the Dollar Store in Hillsborough where he picked out a gun/canteen/binocular set and some Pixy Sticks (see photo to the right). Rather than going to the McDonald’s in Hillsborough that has a playground, I took him to the McDonald’s in downtown Chapel Hill, near Cholanad, the Indian restaurant. He got an “Onward Movie Toy” in his Happy Meal.
It’s a long day as my wife took Katie to both piano and dance lessons today while I tended to Bobby. I guess that Murren is coming over tomorrow so that Katie and her can work on a Lego presentation. They were not going to turn anything in as they said it was too tough, but my wife insisted that they turn something in.
