Day #4062 (Thu., Feb. 18, 2021) – Seven Minutes Of Terror

After many months of flying, NASA finally landed their new rover on Mars.  The whole family gathered around the television in the living room to watch the “Seven Minutes of Terror”, as they have coined it.  They called it this because for seven minutes you will not know if the mission was successful or not.  It takes that long for transmission to get to the Earth from Mars.  In the end, the landing was successful.  It looks like NASA will be using this type of landing on future missions.

The sky had an unusual “orange tinge” this evening (see photo to the right).  Not sure why?

The kids watched a bit of the “Wallee Movie” on the television in the bedroom this evening.
