Day #4430 (Mon., Feb. 21, 2022) – The Hoop Arrives
I was up at 7 am this morning so I took Bobby to school. On the way he told me a bit about the structure of his day.
He starts off the class with Miss Zayad, who teaches English. Her counterpart is Miss Wu who teaches Chinese. In Miss Zayad’s class they have English, and in Miss Wu’s class they have math. They do not sing the national anthem, or pledge allegiance to the flag, but they do have morning announcements in which they have Chinese words of the day along with today’s birthdays.
On the drive home this afternoon Bobby told me that he had a cheeseburger for lunch and it was delicious. My wife made fries and meatballs for him when he got home from school, but he just wanted some chocolate milk.
Also, on the drive home, I told Bobby about this guy I knew who went to Starbucks three times a day… That means he spent roughly $5 x 3 x 30 x 12 = $5,400 on coffee at Starbucks each year! 2.5 times as much as the Camry we were driving home in… He got to thinking…
There is this boy in Katie’s class that she calls “Mr. Softee”… He always torments her when they have a substitute teacher, and today was one of those days. Fortunately this particular substitute teacher sent him to the office.
We walked to the basketball hoop at the end of the street today to try and unwind after Russia declared they would recognize two breakaway republics from the Ukraine… Here we go…
The basketball net arrived today via Amazon (see photo to the right). The instructions were horrible! This is going to be a “multi-day” event putting it together…
Katie wants to do “hair fashion” videos and add them to her YouTube channel.
