Day #4547 (Sat., Jun. 18, 2022) – Last Full Day On Ocracoke

Today is our last full day on Ocracoke Island.  All good things must come to an end…

My back is acting up this morning so I stayed home while the others went to the beach.  The “Marshmallow Mattress” is getting to me I fear…

This afternoon we went to see the museum near the docks.  We picked up some gifts at the gift shop.  The lady who was minding the counter said that she was originally from New York and they bought a house back here in 1982 and have been coming to the island for summers ever since.  She mentioned that a lot of people lose their cars when a hurricane comes to town and buries their car in salt water.

This afternoon we had another pizza from the Ocracoke Variety Store.  Quite a good deal, and the kids like them.  Watermelon for dessert.

This evening we went for our last drive around the island.  We saw the sunset near the docks (see photo to the left).  We went to see where the ponies are.

This evening I watched the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final Series (not the final game) on television.
