Day #4681 (Sun., Oct. 30, 2022) – Busking!

2022-10-29-Pumpkins

The photos to the left show the two pumpkins that the kids carved yesterday.  The small one on top is Katie’s and the large one on the bottom is Bobby’s.  They each have a prominent place in their respective rooms.

So today is the day that we did something we have been talking about for a while… “Busking”…  The initial reason is to pay off some of the Roblox features that Bobby purchased, but Katie wanted to join in as well.

At first we ended up at the corner of Franklin & Columbia.  Bobby was real uncomfortable at first, but Katie joined in and they did very well on their first outing!  We stayed at this location for 9 minutes.

My wife wanted to pick up some spices for the pumpkin seeds we plan to roast this afternoon, so we were off to Harris-Teeter on Estes next.  While my wife shopped the kids set up shop outside.  A nice old lady came by and dropped $5 into Bobby’s violin case!  The first $ the kids have made in their busking venture.  We stayed a total of 9 minutes at this location before heading for home to roast those pumpkin seeds.

The kids were very excited about the $5 they earned this afternoon so they wanted to go out again tonight!  We ended up at Aldi (see photo to the right) and the kids earned $23 for 24 minutes work!

As we ate dinner this evening I showed the kids some family bands via YouTube on the television in the living room.  We started off with “The Petersens”.  This evolved into watching “The Cowsills”, then “The Partridge Family”.

I told Katie that she should learn to play “We Are The Champions” by Queen so she could play it on Franklin & Columbia after game day!
