Day #4737 (Sun., Dec. 25, 2022) – Christmas Day

It’s Christmas Day in Chapel Hill.  Arnesa and family will not be joining us this year.  Like last year, and in 2000 as well, it will be just our small little family celebrating together.

First things first, the opening of the gifts.  Bobby got a drone and Katie got an art set all about “Drawing With The Right Side Of Your Brain”.  Bobby also got a paper airplane book.  Both Bobby and I got an Echo Dot as well, so we all have an Amazon device to keep in touch with now, including one in the kitchen.

My wife made a tasty little breakfast dish out of tater tots and cheese.  My wife and I liked it.  The kids, not so much…

Bobby and I took the drone out to the front yard to try it out.  Worked great, but we lost one of the propeller guards and needed to improvise a new one out of paper clips.

This afternoon we thought we would take a Christmas drive around Hillsborough, and ended up at Sheetz where the kids got slushies, my wife got an apple pie, and I got a coffee with a cinnamon roll.  We happened upon a house where this guy obviously collected old fashioned Christmas ornaments (see photo to the right).

This evening my wife, Katie, and I watched “It’s A Wonderful Life” while Bobby talked with Ethan in his bedroom.  I happened to mention in the van during our drive how I just saw where “It’s A Wonderful Life” is still considered the #1 Christmas movie, so Katie decided to give it another chance.  We watched it this evening while we munched on take out Chinese food from the Hunan restaurant down the street.
