I went to Harris-Teeter this morning to shop for groceries and picked up a couple of “Fruit Parfaits” for the kids (see photo to the right). Bobby saw these the other day while I was picking up the birthday ice cream cake for Katie’s birthday and expressed a desire to get it. I told him that we should wait till after the ice cream cake is gone, and “today is the day”. I mentioned this to Bobby on the drive home from Glenwood this afternoon and he was so excited. He ripped into it as soon as he was inside the door. I told him that he could have Katie’s as well if she didn’t want it, but she did. I’ll have to pick more of these up! On second thought, why can’t we just make them? They are basically only yogurt and fruit with granola on top!
I took the kids to “Spence’s Farm” for another riding lesson this afternoon. Last week Laura, the trainer, suggested that the kids wear boots with heels next time, so we picked them up some riding boots from Amazon. They got to try them out today!
Laura told me that it costs about $400 a month if you want to board a horse by yourself, and about $800 a month if you want someone else to do it. Hay costs $17.50 a bale these days (it was $2.00 a bale when I was a kid).
