We had breakfast this morning at the Mariott restaurant. Kind of expensive, but great! My breakfast with Canadian bacon cost $25 CDN.
We drove around downtown Victoria this morning (see photo to the right) and got to see a bit of Chinatown. After the drive I got valet parking, as this is what the hotel requires. I tipped the guy $5.
Next up was the hotel pool. The kids loved it! I got to meet a couple from Parksville who were originally from Vancouver before they retired.
I had a nap in the afternoon, Bobby played video games, and my wife and Katie went shopping. They got some T-shirts, a jackknife for Bobby (which we had to leave with Amanda as it would have been a hassle to bring back into the US), and Burger King for lunch.
We were planning on going on a tour to see the whales this afternoon but the seas were too rough so we settled on a horse & carriage ride around Victoria. We passed this cute little candy store! I looked it up on Google Maps and it is: Terrible Truffles at the Birdcage Confectionary, 501 Government St, Victoria. The Dramamine that we gave Bobby kicked in so he slept through a lot of the ride…
On the walk back to the hotel we stopped off at the Ole’ Spaghetti Factory for dinner and got a take out.
I’m not feeling 100%… I got what Bobby has/had and now Katie has it as well. She didn’t feel like swimming this evening, and Bobby didn’t want to go swimming without Katie, so we spent the night in the hotel room resting.
Just before Bobby nodded off to bed I told him that I was an eagle flying outside… “APRIL FOOLS”!!!
Katie was sprawling out all over the bed this evening. So much so in fact that my wife spent the night sleeping on the floor.
