Katie is still sick so my wife took Bobby to violin class by himself today, and his soccer game afterwards. The COVID shot I had the other day exhausted me, so I just couldn’t make it. He told me that the tips we talked about really helped his game. My wife put a towel in some ice water, and he especially enjoyed that during breaks. The team scored against him once, but that was apparently when the coach was talking to him and distracted him. He learned from his mistakes, so that shouldn’t happen again.
This afternoon we had a family drive out to Fearrington Village to see the animals. Bobby found that the goats really liked the grass outside their fence (see photo to the right). I guess the “grass is greener on the other side of the fence” like they say. We looked for the bird that used to be in one of the shops, but a lady who worked there said that it was relocated to another home. I asked an elderly lady about a little building near where the “Belted Goat” cafe used to be. She said that they used to sell pizzas from it, but they just can’t find anyone to work there.
Next up was the kid’s playground just outside of the soccer field where Bobby played his game this afternoon. Before that, we stopped off at McDonald’s so that the kids could get their “Two Cheeseburgers With Fries And Fruit Punch” meals. Katie also got an ice cream cone but Bobby was not interested.
The kids enjoyed playing on the swings and things at the playground. Bobby made a new friend, Noah, who loved to race the kids around the equipment. We also found a handicap spot
By the time we got home it was Bobby’s bedtime.
