I dropped Bobby off at the “Cosmic Summer Camp” at the Planetarium in downtown Chapel Hill this morning. You needed to go into the parking lot and there were plenty of counsellors there to pick up the kids and show them to their respective class. Today Bobby learned all about the cycle of life, in terms of what eats what in the animal kingdom.
Since it’s only a 1/2 day camp, the rest of the family loaded up into the van and picked up Bobby at noon, and headed over to see the “Barbie Movie” at the Lumina (see photo to the left). We parked behind the theater, a great place that had handicap parking and no time limit.
After picking up 4 tickets at the Lumina, we went across the street to Subway. Bobby and I shared a turkey sub, and I got a Subway pizza for the first time as well. They didn’t have any lemonade or fruit punch at the soda fountain, just “fizzy” drinks, so Bobby had to settle for that.
In terms of sitting at the movie, my wife and Katie sat in the front, and Bobby and I sat in the back. The place was unusually packed for a Monday matinee, but the movie was good. It was kind of a movie that examined the issues of social norms, and gender bias, in a humorous way. There were three old ladies sitting in front of me who laughed at practically every sentence, so that was a bit annoying. We got Katie and Bobby each a popcorn/drink/gummy combo meal, so they enjoyed munching on that while they watched the movie.
