Day #5100 (Sat., Dec. 23, 2023) – Shopping At Aldi
Katie and I had both Daddy/Daughter Day #138 (Aldi for Christmas food shopping and Starbucks afterward) today!
The kids each got a chocolate Santa (see photo to the left) that I picked up at Aldi the other day in their Advent Calendars this morning. Someone got into my wife’s chocolate Advent Calendar and it’s a mystery as to who the culprit is/was… Did Maple or Ginger get into the box and eat the treats?
I asked Katie if she wanted to go shopping at Aldi for Christmas food this morning and she did. Arnesa and the kids are not coming over for Christmas Day breakfast this year as they are in the mountains for Christmas day (Dzenen is still in Bosnia), but we need to get milk and supplies for our own Christmas Day celebration nonetheless.
Katie was thinking of getting chocolate milk, but the “healthy” diet thought came to mind, so she got pears and strawberries and avocado’s instead. She couldn’t help herself from getting cinnamon buns and red velvet cupcakes though. You can see her sampling Maple and Batman’s Christmas presents in the photo to the right.
On the drive home Katie expressed a desire to go to Starbucks, so we went to the drive thru on MLK. She had the iced gingerbread oatmilk chai, and I had a shot of expresso. She has found her new favorite drink at Starbucks, but even the smell of the expresso that I got turned her stomach. On the drive past Sharon’s house, the strawberry farm, Chapel Hill East High School, and then home we talked of the Law of Attraction and how you don’t need to worry and fret about missing something, “The Source” has your best interests at heart.
