Day #5129 (Sun., Jan. 21, 2024) – Leo’s Birthday
My wife took Bobby to his classmate Leo’s birthday party at “Koala Craft” in Carrboro this afternoon. There were only about 8 kids in attendance, including Bobby and Pavel, another one of Leo’s classmates. The painted and created some balloon animals. Bobby showed me how he made the balloon dog in the photo to the left.
When she got back, my wife took Katie to Ackland Museum in downtown Chapel Hill to see a traveling art exhibit from the Smithsonian.
I made a huge pot of potatoes in the Instant Pot this morning and Katie enjoyed some of those. She also had the last bowl of soup that I made in the Instant Pot the other day. We rely quite a bit on the Instant Pot and the Air Fryer these days. About the only thing we use the oven for is heating up pizzas.
The much awaited Chiefs vs. Bills NFL playoff game was on television this evening. Travis Kelce got two touchdowns, and they showed Taylor Swift in the stands after each of them. The Chiefs just squeaked by the Bills, and will be facing the Ravens next week.
Bobby will often listen to the Suzuki songs that he is playing on the CD in the living room. For the past few days, while he is listening to them to “train his ear” his mother and he will have a game of keeping the balloon off the ground. Good exercise + ear training!
