Day #5153 (Wed., Feb. 14, 2024) – Valentine’s Day!

I dropped Bobby off at Glenwood this morning. He had two bags of Valentine cards & gifts to hand out to his classmates in addition to his backpack, so he had quite a lot to carry. He told me later in the day that they started passing Valentines out at 8 am, and they started at his table first. I guess Ms. Wolk told him that he made her day when he gave her the chocolate bar that I picked up at Aldi last night.

I picked up Katie at school and we went to the public library to pick up another couple of books. She was tired tonight so we didn’t go for a drive. We got to talking about Valentine’s Day, and after you leave elementary school you no longer have an organized “Valentine Passing Out” ritual like Bobby experienced today. She did get some Valentine’s cards & gifts from her friends though. You can see what Katie got (on the top) and what Bobby got (below that), in the photo to the right. Bobby ate most of his at Spence’s Farm, so this was what was leftover by the time he got home…

My wife picked up Bobby at Spence’s Farm this evening. He was the last person at the camp as was eager to leave as soon as he saw her pulling up in the van. When he got home he went to the tub for a bath, and he had his “star” machine beaming images of stars on the ceiling and he washed the dirt off.
